Construction is becoming sustainable. Increasingly complicated. And more expensive.
Keeping track of everything is becoming increasingly difficult: Regulatory requirements, green building certificates, labels, and material declarations are growing more complex by the day. Critical product data remains scattered across disconnected sources. Teams verify data manually, track it in spreadsheets, and chase manufacturers for details – a slow, error-prone, and opaque process..
This is precisely where Materius comes in.
The construction project
Kick-off for a new district:
A pioneering neighborhood is being developed on the Walkeweg site in Basel. The project begins with the construction of a new primary school including a kindergarten, after-school care facilities, a neighborhood square, and natural outdoor spaces. A public space that will serve as a model for others.
As the first building block of the district, the school is deliberately setting innovative impulses for the further development of the area. The "come out and play" project by Aequipe emerged from a two-stage process involving an ideas competition.
The design preserves the vital urban air corridor and achieves a small energy reference area through the compact layout of the interior spaces. Perita, together with Aequipe as a joint venture, is responsible for the project, costs, and construction management.

Sustainability
We developed the sustainability standards requirements together with sustainability auditors on our team and with certification bodies. Rating of each product as compliant, conditionally compliant, or non-compliant is audit-proof.
Technology
Our tech team has built an intelligent database with an LLM data pipeline: it automatically reads datasheets and links the information. Today, we already have over 30,000 building products from 150 manufacturers – for each one, we check over 60 attributes.

Record delivery notes.
We receive delivery notes from the contractors on an ongoing basis. This way we know which products are actually arriving at the construction site.
Bringing information together.
We centrally compile the information on the building products actually used and assign them to the respective positions.
Check for conformity.
We test each product against the requirements for SNBS Gold and document the result for certification.
